I just read a write up on Charger forums on how to pass emissions with no cats; the spark plug fouler mod.....has anyone used this successfully? It looks pretty easy and inexpensive and I would like to try it this weekend. Thanks for your input.
What you didn't believe me over there?Whether it works or not depends on the car.....but like I said over there it's your only hope. It's either try it or put the cats back on.......If I were you I'd spend the $6 and try it.

I believe it worked for your car; I just wanted to hear how many people have had it work and how many have not. It's a great idea and I am going to try it out like I said; was just hoping I could get a percentage.
How much steel wool did you use? I know you said to stuff it medium packness so did you cut it up and shove it in the hole?
Have you picked up the anit-fouler yet? The purpose of this is to limit the air flow. Too much air flow and the sensor thinks there is a hole in the cat and throws a code. Too little airflow and the sensor thinks the cat is plugged up and throws a code.
So basically you need to experiment to find a happy medium. I used 2 anti foulers together to make it work for me BTW. Depending on your mods and amount of airflow will determine how much steel wool to use. I didn't use any, I just used 2 anti foulers and drilled the hole different sizes.

I need to do this sometime this year, but haven't yet. There's no easy universal method and no guarantee it'll work on your car, unfortunately.

Thanks for the input; I will try that if the first attempt doesn't work.
Try it like Hemi31 told ya.... It worked like a charm for me and have been thru many emissions tests..

MODS: Magnaflow Competition exhaust, Roto-Fab CAI.....
Ok, I went out and bought all the stuff but they had multiple grades of steel wool ranging from course to super fine; I bought the stuff in the middle called very fine......is this what you used or do you think it matters?
Not good; I think I just bought regular steel wool; it's from Rhodes American and just says steel wool; where can I find stainless steel wool?
Absolutely . Two years in a row now . A little reset drive and you are out of not ready status and golden .

How about if I am only going to use the steel wool just to get past emissions and then pull it out; do I still need stainless?
