Do flowmasters really have a "tinny" sound?

I was planning on doing 2 flowmaster super 40's in place of the suitcase and straight piping it out the back. The guy at the muffler place said that flows have a very "tinny" sound to them. He suggested I go with magnaflow, and from other people Ive heard bad things about magnaflow. I want a deep loud rumble, definitely dont want a tinny sound.

You will want resonators, or you will get drone...

Here are a few of the different setups I have tried on my car.

The first is a corsa catback with long tubes, I borrowed a buddy's corsa a few days because he wants longtubes and wanted to know what it would sound like.

I realize you may not have headers, but this will give you some kind of idea. The magnaflows are a really deep sounding muffler. B&B exhaust is also really nice, I heard some at the shindig this weekend that were really awesome. You'll find something you like, just keep looking.

The drone will cause you to commit Hari Kari . I tried the Flowmaster 40's and no resonators when my Magnum was new and there were no choices. I took em off and gave em to a guy that works for me and he put em on his 318 Ram. They sound great on his Ram but an evil drone on the MDS hemi whenever it went into 4cyl mode. Now with the Borla112 you can't tell when its in 4cyl mode.

I did a pair (not the single catback muffler version) of magnaflows with and without resonators, and the sound is wonderful without resonators, but it will immediatly fail the wife test.

With Zoomers Cannon tips it got right civil and still howled nicely.

Zoomers or Corsas are the way to go though.

I removed the resonators and replaced the suitcase with flowmaster 50 series, no drone and definitely not tinny.
