Diablo Sport Tuner Questions/Input from users

Okay guys and gals Im old school. Im just getting my feet wet with new style performace tuning. I have a few questions about the Diablo sport tuner.

    1. When you use it are you restricted to 93 octaine or can you run mid grade and low?
    2. Is the tune noticble in daily driving?
    3. Does the tuner help firm up the transmission and does it still feel street frendly?
    4. Will the aftermarket exhaust I have be factored in when I use it?
    5. Will the CAI also be factored in?
    6. What are the most helpful features of this?
    7. What are the pros and cons?
    8. Any increase in gas milage? (Im trying to justify having to run premium)
I know these sound like newb questions but on my SRT-4 you had to use a flashed computer or a piggyback system. And well the 66 charger is the easy old school. I just wanted to ask these question sbefore I commit the money to it. Thanks for any input.

    1. You must use either 93 or 91 octane fuel.
    2. Yes.
    3. Yes.
    4. It will only help.
    5. Yes, there are tunes designed for use with a CAI.
    6. Likely the raised shift points, and improved throttle response, plus the extra power.
    7. Cant think of any cons..too many pros to list!!

(The SRT4 guys will be enjoying the benefits of these tuners soon enough as well)

    Thanks
    Mike

You can use 87 octane on the "Modify stock tune" setting. I think you can adjust shift firmness, clear adaptive learning, fan on/off temp, MDS, ESP, and EGR with the stock setting. I use the 93 CAI setting (modified) and it rocks. Takes about 40-50 miles for your car to adjust to the new settings, but once it does, you will love it.
MOPAR CAI, Flowmaster 40's w/resonator's, JBA ceramic shorties, Diablo Predator(modified 93 CAI tune), Comp 260 Cam, 6.1L pushrods.

Using anything less than 91 will be decreasing performance.

    Thanks

I am using the 91 tune on my 5.7. What gas stations in Ontario have 94 octane? Save me driving past the pumps to find out. It would be fun to try out the 93 octane tune.

The only gas I've seen over 91 Oct., is the 94 Oct. you can get at some Husky / Mohawk stations.

If the calibration in your car is not up to date, you would have to update the PCM using the Predator which would require the cables, plus they are good to have so you can get future updates and/or custom tunes, or to upload logs to a PC.

    Thanks

consider that the cost of premium gas is still about the same difference for many years. That means it is a lot less percentage wise now that gas is much more. Supposedly you may save that much in better milage.

I love the Predator, like so many say, she is a MONSTER, a real BEAST, and I love it.

My car definitely "returns the favor"!!!
