    Debris in coolant tank?

I tried to get better photos but this is what I came up with. What the hell is this black sludge doing in my coolant ?

And what the hell is it from? Do I need a coolant flush? I just had a shop do a head and cam install with a new 180 therm. can something be wrong on the inside of my
engine to cause this build up?

Dude, it looks like it's oil to me. Make sure they fastened and torqued all 13 bolts to your water pump. There's like 2-3 bolts that can easily be overlooked underneath the pulley. IS there any signs of overheating? Could be they also put your head gaskets the wrong way. Yep, there has been folks on these forums that have done that lol!

well....I'll tell ya what I think......I think they rolled the motor over with the heads off and didn't pull the oil pump.......even spinning the motor by hand will allow oil to come up through the oil passages and seep into the coolant passages.........been there.....nightmare to clean out.if it has completely coated the tank you will need to buy a coolant tank and flush the system......the good news is that the heads are not leaking and the water pump should be ok.

Do I need to clean the tank, or get a coolant flush.
