    Darth Hemi Reloaded

Purpose: Make a Dodge Magnum be all it can be in a road race environment. Do our best to overcome its weaknesses (giant pig size, weight) and capitalize on its strengths (ahem... hemi). Don't just tackle one thing... hit it all. And spiff the look while we're at it.

This project has lasted so far for three months in the shop, and goes well beyond that in terms of development. At present its not done, but with any luck we're about two weeks away from that. Maybe less and I'll be able to discuss details and show pics on some of the things below fully after a visit to SVS R&D scheduled for this coming Friday. The only reason I am posting this thread now is because its time to at least put up one of the sub-threads.

Sub-threads? Yes I am doing something different to cover this build. The DHR Project is pretty ambitious, on top of an already extensively modified-for-track car. Further, it will have a few firsts for the LX platform in different areas. To keep the discussion focused mod by mod, I'm going to create different threads and tie them together with this one. Of the list below, each item will become a live link to a thread as they get posted over time.A LOT of vendors are involved in this project, and I have gotten a lot of help from individual members as I either bounce wild ideas off of the sane, or seek crazy ideas from the maniacal. I'll thank individual vendors and members in individual threads and skip that part here.

    ...

What a bunch of long-winded crap! What could be worth all this finger-numbing, snooze-inducing BS?

    ...

    Here's the build list:
    • Tow hooks, front and rear
    • Quaife limited-slip differential
    • Pro-Torque converter with custom, road-course-friendly stall
    • Mopar Performance TCM
    • Mopar police oil cooler

    • Ported/smoothed, stainless AirHammer, Polydyn coated on the outside and teflon coated on the inside
    • JBA shortie headers, Polydyn coated
    • New track wheels shod with Bridgestone RE-050A Pole Position tires, 245/35/20 front and 255/35/20 rear

    • Custom ShiftHammer mount from Billet Technology
    • Engine bay trinkets from Billet Technology

      • Blue Giant injectors
      • Frank Racing Street & Strip heads opened up to match the 6.1L manifold.
      • Ferrea valves
      • HHP upgraded springs & Ti retainers

Don't takethis as raining on your impressive parade, but you've incorrectly used a product name with which I am VERY familiar (it's my day-job essentially), and I hope you will consider revising the use in your Mod List appropriately... and anywhere else.

Please refer to THe History of Teflon®

Teflon® is the exclusive name of our DuPont product line and should never be used uncapitilized and/or without the ® Reg. Trademark symbol. Now if, in fact, the interior lining of the Air Hammer is not our DuPont product, then it is a mis-application of our product name and the real name of the product should be used.

Just trying to ensure that Teflon® doesn't go the way of Thermos®.

    Thanks for your consideration.

Soooo tasty! Been hard to keep my trap shut all these weeks. Nice to finally get to talk about all this business.

I'm really excited by this, for more than a few reasons. I'm pretty sure this is the first time anyone has purpose built an LX for road course type of racing. Matt's going after fast reving, out of the turn type acceleration. This motor really ought to fit that bill well.

    Can't wait Matty!
