Could someone point me in the direction (if it's been done) of a comparison between the port and/or polish heads available and their respective gains?

I don't think anyone has actually done a comparison on the different heads.I run the FRI heads and am very happy with them.I am sure that you will hear the same from those with the other heads as well.

How would you like them compared?
I feel what makes us different is that we build them "as you request"
Big port or small?
Standard deck or milled?
Ti or steel?
Stock valve or after market?
Polished chamber, smoothed or stock?
Polished exhaust runner, ported, reshaped, or whatever?
Depending on application, we help you choose a head that fits your cam desired that also mates with your entire combo................
Our heads are "hand-made" and we take great pride in what we do.......
I was thinking about the standard variants: for example I have briefly read about econo and street heads that you produce.
I'm looking for across the curve gains. Flow numbers are lost on me, unfortunately, as I haven't researched the exact effect on performance (other than more is typically better)

well...........
The "across the curve gains" will depend on the cam and IF the cam is properly speced to the heads...........
"bigger isn't better"
We can make some insanely large heads, but the air will actually move too slowly to keep its velocity up thus BIG can actually hurt flow...........
Consider a firehose hooked up to the side of your house................even if you turn your water spount to "wide open", the water barely trickles out; thus decreasing flow.
If we took your same water spount and hooked up a 1/4" water hose that was 6' in length, our water pressure out the end of the hose would be HUGE but our total flow would be down.....................
Using math, we might figure that the best compomise between water velocity and water volume (given your house water pressure) maybe a 10' hose that is 1/2" id...........
Does this make sense?
We can keep the port smaller for higher torque numbers, open it up for bigger increases on the top end, or anything inbetween.
HEMI31's heads were a medium port that started with a gasket match and tapered into the bowl area......................we used the stock valve, and angles for the valve and seat to maximize flow. (5 angled)
HEMI31 has the standard deck height.................
Other heads we've done are similar but with a fully polished combustion chamber and a fully polished exhaust port....................this is primo for nitrous applications. (FrankieD.)
Some heads were made for plain torque............they didn't require full porting................and we matched their cam appropriately. These guys used Econo heads and Hellfire cams (FlyByU, BrilliantBlkHemi, etc.)
"best" is relative.....................
We expect to see gains into 430 rwhp to 450 rwhp depending on combo
But these are PEAK power numbers....................they do not represent a FEEL...............
An Econo w/ a HELLFIRE (as an example) is a good combo and feels powerful out of the hole and in the mid-range; while a Street head and a Littleboy pulls harder in the mid section all the way through...........
(these were just examples)
Our newest cams are just now coming out...............one is our SRT8 version of the Sidewinder..................small yet a torque monster.................very little overlap and should not require a B&G.
One is as big as a Littleboy but is specifcly made for NA power............
And the Comp 268 and the HELLFIRE are power proven time and time again................
Hope this helps..................

What I'm looking for is better E.T.'s and MPH for measurable gains and low end 'feel' as with the 3.06 rear dipping into the pedal requires a kick down before I can get a little squirt of power when in traffic. I drive this car daily.
I'm currently bested with a 12.89 ET and a 111.4 mph on street tires with a 1.991 best 60'.
4drvet!
thats an excellent time and mph
Please talk to HEMI31, BrillantBlkHemi, FlybyU, FrankieD., Dawson, GasRGuner, and others and get their impressions of what we have to offer.
I say this because they are the users of the products and I feel their oppinions are better than mine.
Bipto's combo is 99% done and should be an incredible setup.................you might want to watch his closely.
I feel Steve and I can answer specific issues you may have in regards to building what you want.................but I feel our customers best speak as to the quality of our product, service, and how THEIR cars "feels".
In Englishtown, NJ the majority of our all motor cars (6.1) run 12.5 - 12.6
HEMI31 runs 12.4...........we feel with some tweeking we can get him to 12.1 - 12.2
I feel Bipto will be faster than our average cars (all motor)............

The polished chambers are on my heads as well.Between the heads/cam and converter I picked up 6-7 tenth's at the track and 4-5 mph.The port work is very nice, but I have an early set of FRI heads and after seeing the latest offerings of Street heads they may be going back this winter for some of that tweaking![]()

definately..................its not a "one size fits all" type of thing.
The new stuff is from us learning how to capture the bottom end torque we want while not petering out on the top end..........
Lafrad and CoolV were a big part of that............
Now Bipto will merely be the missing piece...............
When CoolV's motor is done and that new cam gets run, we'll release that one..............
This really isn't about cams, but I want to make clear that the head should match the cam..................I mean, who cares what the head flows at .700 lift if the cam is a .540 lift cam ya know?
So we've tried to play with flow numbers to make sure the head is still on its aggressive "up-swing" before the cam stops..................this will keep torque maximized and not give up horse power.
From there, we match the port of the intake with the port on the head.........................finish the head accordingly......................and then match the heads to the cam.........................the result should be a good running car.
