i remember some one saying you need all sorts of new harnesses and a PCM to make it work,

    thats very intriguing
In theory you should be able to just turn the switches and it should not care, no one has tired this yet so it is all on paper for now.

Oh, its been done, just been a cut and hack job, I refuse to have that, hince the 2 years in the works.

If I cant get the NAG1 to work, your sayin I can basicly turn off the tranny PCM? And put the T56 in?

In theory yes, they have a switch for manual transmission equipped as well as one for trans control present.

really? i thought the trouble with controlling the tranny through aem is cause of the tcm that controlls the automatics with a manual tranny you wouldnt have a tcm. so you just setup the aem for manual option and u should be good to go

That said, I am currently speaking with AEM on the subject of a LX box. I honestly think I could make an SRT-4 EMS run a LX car, it just would have issues with the transmission, you'd have to find another way to handle the transmission stuff for sure.

would handling the tranny be a problem if the car came with a manual 6speed?
If it's a 6 speed It would simplify things a lot. Diablo can elaborate on it more i'm sure, but it seems like the Mopar ECUs between the cars are similar enough that one should be able to get a SRT4 AEM to run a LX car, might have to do a little wiring trickery and swap some sensors but should be basic stuff. The only variable I can think of would be if for some reason the CANBUS stuff freaks out. The AEM box for the SRT4 cars retains the OEM ECU to keep all the OBDII stuff happy, not sure if it has the same level of CANBUS BS that LX cars have though. If someone seriously wants to try it, I will look into it more.

I agree with the other guy that said it though... if you are yanking out an AEM EMS it probably wasn't tuned right. I've done plenty of SRT4 AEM cars and lost count of the number of DSM/Evo/3000GT AEM cars I've done and never had a problem getting them to run flawless on a properly put together vehicle.

LXs use an NGC variant PCM while SRT4 caliber uses a GPEC controller. quite a bit different. not sure if it will be compatible. unless you mean SRT4 neon PCM which also uses an NGC variant.
