    Check this DashHawk mount out

Well I was all set to replicate RedFox's mount, as seen here. Called up Bobby (my speed/installer guru at SVS R&D) and talked it over; he's got my car for... other reasons...

He called me back later and was concerned about the brightness of the display at night, even at its dimmest setting. He was also thinking that, since this is a daily driver I might not want to always look at the DH. His solution?

Pretty slick if ya ask me!

Yes the data port is freely accessible, and yes that fuzzy patch on the left is there on purpose (for my leg to help with the rubbing as I wear shorts all the time) and no I don't drive around without a shifter knob (twas removed for the pics)

Nice job CoolV... I might just have to "borrow" that idea. How do you have the Dashhawk anchored (double-sided tape, velcro), so it doesn't bounce around? Was it easy to run the cable?

Pretty slick. It will also fit in the eyeglass holder. I just havent gotten off my lazy butt to make extended wires. I look at mine all the time. Heck I dont even look at the cluster anymore. As for the brightness, you do know that you can dim the display haha.

Here is the mount that I am working on. Got it from Ken during the beta testing. I think it is from the SS Chevy. Did a little cutting here and there. Just need to figure out how to mount it so it dont slide. Again I got to get off my lazy butt.

I don't mean to hijack your thread Jason, but I keep seeing all these pics of DashHawks and I notice none have that stupid aluminum bracket mounted on the top. Now I'm thinking I got a 'returned' unit at the cost of a new one. Sorry I don't have a pic, but did anybody receive there unit with the bracket adhered to the unit....right out of the box? The million dollar question is how do I remove the double sided taped bracket on my DashHawk without damaging it?

I got the bracket with mine but NOT attached. I would try the same technique you use with dental floss to remove badging.

Very slick indeed, but I like looking at mine and that wouldn't be convenient for me.

It is a nice fit there, CV.

I came very close to mounting mine there a few weeks ago, but decided to keep it viewable full time. (Night time viewing intensity is no issue, BTW, even on dark moonless nights in the desert.)
