    Arrow Cam only Results for the 5.7 with 1/4 mile Times...

    Here we go! What I/we are looking for is CAM ONLY results. Meaning no headers installed... Yes, I know that most folks have been patient and waited to save money and do it all at once; but yet, I KNOW there's a decent handful of folks out there that installed a cam-only, and left the rest to bolt-ons...

    Since we cant "sort" the timeslips database according to these criteria... Let's see the results from you!!

    Cam (Spartan) only: 351hp/374tq - 1/4 mile 13.388 @ 105 (edited the mph to 105)

    FULL weight.
    17 X 8.5 Borbet TS w/ 275/40 Hoosiers DR's on the back and 22's in the front.
    Stock heads
    Stock headers
    JBA hi-flow cats

    Spartan cam only 5.7 13.25 with drag radials.....full weight nothing taken out of the car....actually a little heavy for an RT as I have the SRT seats in and they are a lot heavier than the stock RT seats were

    Cam Only - Custom - 222/230 @ 116 (stupid big by big, yea, i know)
    stock rear end
    2800 stall
    25.5" hoosiers
    shorties w/ no cats
    (and the rest should be the same in my sig)

    12.86 @ 111 in -800 DA

    no weight reduction on these runs, roughly 4200 lbs

    Hope this isn't to much to ask but can u guys state if you did weight reduction (took seats out etc) or are full weight (how I drive to work every day).

    Im almost certain BigHemi and Monty were in full street trim. Mike were you running DR's or 22's on that 13.3?

    PaCharger has a best of 12.444@109.64 with a sidewinder only. gibson shorties as i recall as well. he runs street weight at the track. maybe removing the spare.

    HigsHemi has a best of 13.2 with a sidewinder and JBA shorties, high flow cats. street weight on street tires.

    Yup edited my post to add that.....and Monty's 13.3 was with teh DR I believe he was 13.4X with the 22's

    the difference in street weight has to do with a lot of things.

    FIRST AND FOREMOST --- year of build, options in build
    sunroof, electronic options etc weight a LOT, as well as power/heated seats.
    but weighing more is 2007+ car year models
    my 2006 with ALL AVAIL OPTIONS included heated seats and sunroof only weighs 4250 street weight.... that is LIGHT!!!!!!!!! and im pretty sure its because its a 2006.
    what changed to 2007? dont ask me.
    the only option i have removed (to make money and save weight) was the rear VES system.. probably saved me 5 lbs total.. not much

    removing the jack and spare is a given.. if you dont do this, well, your not racing
    i dont even include this in my street weight as i dont even drive with ti anymore

    how much gas is in the car

    street rims vs drag radials vs DRs + skinnies.
    how big/heavy are your street wheels? how light are you DRs? do you have skinnies?
    you can probably save 100 lbs just from this setup.

    when you remove the rear seat... do you just take time to remove the seat bottom? or the seat back as well?
    seat bottom is 5lbs or so... seat back is... a lot more (never weighed it)

    passenger seat? if you have the electronic/heated seats, ive had these reported to weigh in at 60 or so lbs, which is about right given how hard it is to lift, never weighed it myself.

    -
    then theres extremes of removing the front sway bar, having a set of turn downs for the rear half of the exhaust to save weight of mufflers and pipes... ask Slideway about the turn downs

    personally, my street weight is probably in the neightborhood of 4250, but im not sure.

    my race weight is 4105 with 3/8 tank of gas. this is with
    -removal of rear seat bottom (leaving seat back),
    -drag radials rear, with viper 20x9's in front
    -removal of passenger seat
    -no spare/jack (duh!)

    soon i will be getting a set of 18" skinnies w/out a bracker vice the 17"
    and practice removal of rear seatback as well as sway bar.

    will report back then on weight

    p.s. i only ever added drag radials back on my cam only setup and never removed seats to achieve the 12.8

    i dont have the spare tire in my car other than that everything is there all the seats also have a good size amp in the trunk for the sub, however the sub isnt in the car when racing.....was running with stock 18's in the front and 17in cobra wheels for DR.... Spartan cam, SLP longtube headers and exhaust, Airhammer, and CMR tune....the one thing I wish I could have fixed before adding the heads and tq converter (dont have new track numbers for that yet) is my suspension was shot, the rears were cambered in I was only burning up the inside of the drag radials they were so bad with the lowering springs.

    hated it.
    sounded pretty good,
    and my previous shop clearly made the choice of going for lope rather than performance when i mentioned i wanted a choppy cam.

    but other than that, it was like hitting nitrous at 4500rpms because it was like stock power until that point.

    trapping at 111mph cam only, that shows where the power band was.

    i had a hard time doing burnouts and all that jazz too.

    it cost me a pretty penny by going the "unproven" route the first time around the block, and i wish i just went with a sidewinder lol.

    i probably would have been satisfied enough to not drop money on heads and a torque convter trying to combat the bigass cam

    but in the end, im happy where im at now, but im broke.
