    Cam Ideas

I would like to know what is a good cam to go with, something just above stock for a 5.7L. I am going to upgrade the pcm to the Mopar PCM. Nothing to radical, something that will put out a little more than the stock one does.

cam only swap.....take a hard look at the Frank Racing "Sidewinder".......MDS and computer friendly!! Good torque cam, what these cars really need, and you keep everything else stock.....contact MomsR/T or Gremlinsteve on here and they can get you hooked up.

Either the Sidewinder or Comp XFI-260 or 268.

The Comp 268 may be a turd if you don't do any modifications to the heads or intake, and it takes a good bit of effort to get it to idle and behave nicely in heavy traffic.

The Comp 260 has been hit-or-miss for people, all did find more power, but some have had behavior problems with this one too... where it would stall when warm and such.... requiring a B&G flash of the computer or a piggyback fuel adjustment device.

The Sidewinder from Franks Racing runs well on a Superchips flashed computer (from what has been shared), and will give you a good powerband with comparable power numbers to the Comp 260, but definately better "in town" behavior... no stalling, etc etc. This is probably the current "Bang for your buck" leader, drop it in and tear up the roads!

Its not *necessary* for a valvespring change, but you probably should...
