Best way to wire up electric cutouts?

I just got some cutouts installed onto my mid pipes and while the car was up on the lift, I was looking around for the best place to route the wires but I couldnt think of any easy way to do it. Can anybody show me what they did to theirs? I have the low profile DMH cutouts if that matters. Thanks alot.

How much wire do you have? I'd probably go forward to the firewall and then up to the grommet that's already there.

^^Ditto. And don't forget the split loom, relays, and the weather rated connectors. What's the amp rating on the motors?

You can use the grommet where your emergency brake cable goes to the rear of the car. Thats what i used and run your wire under the carpet to the center console

I did the same as Super T did. I also tucked the wires under the heat shield to avoid having them snagged on something.

Thanks alot guys! I was thinking that rubber grommet would be my best bet but I really hate that thing and was trying to avoid it. I ran a couple of wires through there to a switch for my grill lights and it was a HUGE PITA. Any tips on an easy way to get it through the grommet?

There is a pretty decent length of wire. And that idea for running the wire under the heat shield is a good idea, thanks!

Don't use the hood cable grommet, use the one a little further up w/ the wire through it. That one's pretty easy.

I'm assuming the the wire through the grommet is for an activator switch that will engage one or more relays (1 for each cutout motor with separate inline fuses?) The switch would be either DTDP (double throw, double pole) or DTSP (double throw, single pole) so you can enable both motors from a single switch and the power would be sourced from under the hood rather than from inside the cabin. Relays would be located under the hood. Therefore, the wire(s) through the grommet wouldn't be going directly to the cutout motors but to the relays. Does this sound similar to what you had in mind?

Yeah but the motors are already wired up. The only thing I needed help with was how to get the wires into the cabin. I know about the grommets in the firewall but I hate them, lol.

I've had both badlanz and now DMH lo-profile cutouts & wire loom is tucked under the heat shield through the grommet and wired with fuse into the accessory circuit (power to cigerette lighter). I also use a "rocker" switch which allows you to open & close easily by holding it down to the degree you want them to open, then it snaps back to a neutral position.

Yeah mine came with that switch but it is really small and hard to push it to one side or the other. I am thinking about changing the switch. If you have it, would you mind posting a pic of the switch you used? Thanks.

It's the switch closest in the pic, it came with my Badlanz cutouts & I really like it.
