    Best SRT Long Tube Headers?

What are the best SRT long tube headers for improved performance? I want your opinions.

Is there any empirical evidence of superiority of one brand advantage? Obviously, I'm not asking for opinions here, unless you wish it include your explanation of the reasons for superiority.

I have yet to see flow numbers from any of the manufacturers... you're taking them all purely on their word. You should look at things like materials (pure stainless is the ONLY way to go IMHO... coatings come off. Ceramic coatings do help a lot for heat though). Look at runner length... are they truly (or very nearly) equal length runners, or are they just cobbled together so they look pretty? Look at weld quality (haven't heard any negative comments about any of them in that department), port shape (the SRT heads have "D"-shaped ports, not round), etc. Having looked at all these things, from the information I have been able to gather, my money will go to Kooks when I make the plunge. No proof of performance numbers, sadly, other than they're being run on many of the record-setting LX's.

I have seen good results from both Kooks and Dynatech, cant say one is better than the other, I would lean towards Kooks. Of course now we also have SLP and Bassani as options as well, which both make quality products.

    I don't know,

I'm digging the 1-7/8" dynatechs, I'd like to try those out. Especially with your 419 build.

This comments begs the question: "What diameter are the Kook's tubes?"

Is it safe to assume both the Kook's and Dynatech's are 3" after the collector?

Considering that edies are an enemy of unrestricted flow, it's one thing to build a flange to match the exhaust head ports, and yet another to transition from the flange into the tube without creating an edy.

So, which of the headers, while having a flange that mates with the exhaust head ports, also makes a smooth transition into the header tube? I.e., if you slide your finger into the header tube, is there a sharp ridge where the header tube is welded to the flange?

Note: I not sure my us of the word "flange" is the proper name of the plate of the header tubes that bolts to the heads. If not, please educate me.

I've used Kooks on a few cars in my life, being lucky to live just a short drive from them. You will be hard pressed to find better flowing headers.

Not for long, I meet and talked with Jr at a resturant for a while at SEMA. They're moving far, far away soon.
