    Question Adaptive tranny logic question

I don't pull fuse 11 very often. But the other day, after feeling frustrated by the seeming lack of power of the 6.1L engine, I decided to pull fuse 11 for a few minutes. My oh my, it definitely woke the sleeping giant up. The performance gains could be felt across the entire power band in all gears. This is the way the car is supposed to perform.

Unfortunately, about 5 minutes later, because I had to drive in some traffic, the car went right back into granny mode. And the only way to revive it is to pull fuse 11 again. Driving it like I stole it does not wake it up again. Is there a way to keep these cars constantly "awake"? I hate the freakin adaptive logic. I'm sure it's fine in the Touring or Limited models, but not in the 425 hp SRT-8. The granny logic feels like it steals at least 60 hp away from the engine. Is there another fuse I can pull to kill off adaptive logic? I know the Predator is supposedly going to have an option to turn off the adaptive logic, but I'm looking for something for the short term until it's released.

    Thanks all!

you and me and a lot of the rest of us. i dont know what else fuse 11 controls, but the idea was bantered around a few times to drive without it, but im sure there are negative effects of that.

i found that if i end up granny driving for a while, that if i put it in autostick and beat on it a little bit, maybe a 1/4 tank of gas, its back to its lively self. i read one post at one point saying when using it in autostick, frequently let the RPMs increase above 3K before shifting, and that will keep it aggressive. it works, but doesnt seem to work as well as just pulling the fuse.

so after all those words, i have no answer for you. i HOPE that the Predator can turn this off. i want my beast any time i want, and i want the trans to stop thinking and just do.

Leave it in autostick and stay aggressive on the throttle in lower gears. It eats gas like a mo-fo but it keeps the car in check.

Is there some way to put a toggle switch on it(fuse 11) and throw it from the drivers seat? Not sure if you can do it while driving but if you stopped for something you could throw the switch and when you get back in turn it back on

ya... cutting power to the ECU while driving down the road sounds like a brilliant idea

    interesting.. hmmm
I know we can make the Predator act like your pulling that fuse with the click of a button.
But I'll dig for how to reduce/stop the adaption via tuning.

PLEASE DO runninrs! This has got to be THE most frustrating feature of these cars. Your status would be elevated to demi-God if you could pull off this capability...

Actually, the engine will just stop running. Of course there goes the power steering, etc.

I have such a switch installed on mine and had a wire come loose once.

Heavy traffic on the interstate at rush hour? Yup? Fortunately I was in the outside lane with a place to pull over.

i need the adaptives. my car is much slower after a #11 fuse pull. i drive spirited all the time and don't have this granny mode. if i have to disconnect the battery or pull fuse 11 for some reason, i loose the finely tuned adaptives i had. it normally takes one heat cycle and i am back.
