    About to FRI an AWD

No Randy, not even a Bandit.

About once a year I get an overwhelming desire to throw money at my car. Here is the plan all laid out and when it will be done and when it will be shown.

    What is going on:

    AirHammer
    FRI Econo Heads
    FRI SideWinder Cam
    JBA Short Headers
    JBA High Flow Cats

I will stay with the SuperChips tuner for this project and retain MDS. I have the Mopar/Borla exhaust.

I am attending the Montreal MnG at the end of May. Since the route from here to there runs just about through Hemi31's back yard, I will drop the car off for him to work his magic while we explore the Adirondacks for a couple of days.

Will this make my AWD really fast? We will find out at the Napierville dragstrip on the 27th of May.

My wife doesn't understand the need to do this, go figure!

    Pictures whenever I have some.

Good luck, hope everything turns out great for you. Seems as if FRI is the way to go!

Cool; I always wanted to see someone put some power in an AWD and see if the drivetrain will hold up.

Hey... why not be the first to drop a 6.1L in an AWD? I would really like to see if the front drive train could handle that!

Actually, that sounds like a nice mod list. It should give you a noticable increase in HP without too much risk of pushing the drive train limits. I look forward to seeing the results.

Just let your wife drive the car at the dragstrip. Maybe she'd understand then.

Actually, this combination will give him just as much power if not a hair more than a stock 6.1.

Heads, cam, full exhaust, tuning can get you right around 450+ at the crank with no problem.

Edit, go here and check this out.

JonzMgnm video of dyno...382 RWHP &411 RWTQ!

Based on a 18% driveline loss of the rwd, that would put him at 465 at the crank. Those torque numbers on a AWD would absolutley kick the living crap out of a slightly modified 6.1 on a road course.

Well... I've already got the Airhammer, JBA shorty headers, JBA hiflow cats, and Zoomers. I thought I was going to be happy for a while... but, now between you and Done...

Hmmm... I wonder if I can figure out a way to get my daughter to pay for her own college expenses?!

Great choices there, Don! You won't be disappointed....between the newfound HP and gobs of TQ, and knowing it was all done the right way (Hemi31 is the shiznit)!!!!!

...and I'm absolutely flattered that Cam chose my thread as a reference to what Don can expect!

what's the weight difference of awd vs. rwd? And the gearing on the awd? I would guess a lower gear set on the awd helping it out of the hole compared to a rwd 5.7/6.1, but will the weight hold it back?

I wish they would have made the SRT8 w/ a AWD version, like a GCSRT8 but in magnum version

Good luck done! Sounds like it's going to be wicked!
