    5.7 + cam, 6.1 intake mani, and SRT exhaust?

    I have an '05 Magnum RT, and i've come into a 6.1 intake/throttle body, and the complete SRT8 exhaust from manifolds back. If I added a mild street cam to the mix, how much power should I expect to be gained?

    Has anyone done this combo? I'm not planning on heads at this time.

    depending on the cam, 360-375.

    it should work well, but you will still need to either modify the port on your heads, or look into the new spacer Billet Tech is working on (not out yet) to make the 6.1 top match your 5.7 head.

    i would go with a medium or larger cam to take advatange of the top end in that manifold.
    a sparrow, or a scud if you can get a torque converter at the same time.

    i would save up some money and get some 6.1 heads to go with the other goodies, then you'd be looking at around 420-430 depending on cam.

    Those are more like SRT H/C #s. I'd wager he'd be more in the 400rwhp range with an RT.

    gotta consider that putting an SRT head on a 5.7 will drasticly raise the compression as well tho

    he has 5.7 heads correct?

    i'm doing it to my car, so we'll see. imo it should be in the 430/430 range with the right cam. high 11's at the track with supporting mods, and good air.

    you gotta realize that a ported 6.1 head flows a good bit more air than the ported 5.7's as well as raised comp. it also matched up to the better manifolds without spacers.

    Yes. Bryan has ported 5.7 heads...and NON ported 6.1 intake manifold. (currently)

    Thanks fellas. Without ported heads or maybe higher compression?, it doesn't sound like the 6.1 intake manifold on a stock 5.7 is worth the trouble. Especially if it would lose low/midrange torque.

    Actually... *I'm* cam only AND getting 357RWHP/375TQ.....with the SRT headers hi-flow cats... I just posted a thread somewhere around here.... <searching>
