Wireing Stock Head unit to AMPs?

I have the stock head unit with the CD changer and the Boston 6 speaker set up. It sounds good but I think it could sound better.
I installed it all myself but left the connection to the factory harness up to an installer.
He wired it up so that only the front channels go to the amps. NO FADER!!!
He said something about the factory amp and lineout levels.

Here is my question: How is the wireing done right?
Do you cut into the factory speaker lines after the factory amp?
I do not trust how this guy wired it. No fader that sucks!

    Thanks Bob!
Anyone else know how to wire AMPs up to still have fader?

Wire it after the factory amp. Warning! none of the 6 channels are full range.

Should I just bypass the factory amp?
How do I get the best power & sound?

Sounds like you have already bypassed the factory amp.

What is the layout of the system you are installing and what are you trying to accomplish? (louder, better SQ, best SQ)

Just trying to do it the BEST way.
    I would like fader control.
I have a 2 channel amp running front and rear with a pass thru on the 2 channel amp to the sub amp.

Either have to ditch the rear speakers, adjust the gain on the amp to get your desired fade or get the $80 harness.

If you don't have a fader now then the factory amp is bypassed, as stated already.

Wait, do you have both pairs of speakers running off one 2 channel amp? If you do then you can't fade, you need more channels.
