back in the day I have a '94 Chevy Caprice.
The very first time I was at a track (thought I'd watch first and then maybe race), the very first run I made 14.7 @ 92

1994 Chevrolet Caprice all stock besides drop in K&N filter and flowmaster mufflers.
    LT1 motor = torque
The LT1 was a revolutionary powerplant for sure.
that's with full interior, daily driver, regular tires, I think I had to take out the floormats and stuff from glovebox. Full size spare was there.

    The catch of the day!

These are the main harnesses fished out today:
total was, IIRC of these, 5 lbs or so:

The one with the blue connector is a trailer harness? huh? SRT8 magnums are not recommended to tow anything? One of the wires from this harness actually goes outstide the rear of the car to the rear body harness...but the body harness itself does not have a pin to connect to it. I guess when my car went down the line all magnums got the trailer tow wiring.....

Total weight from this project came out at 10lbs 6oz; this pic was taken before one more little harness was taken out.

The whole catch, over several days and probably 25 hours! (yeah I am nuts....)

I tell you, the wiring harnesses of modern vehicles are incredibly complex. Amazing engineering in something we take for granted. Even more when you consider it has to be slapped into a car in 30 secs or so (just guessing) as the vehicle is assembled. It has to handle cold, hot, abrasion, flex, and not fail for years and years.

Did Chris use any of what you didn't need in the A100?

I hope I'm fortunate enough to be at the track the day you finally punch into the 10's buddy!

Got to admire your determination and tenacity to make your car faster. Do you have a specific target weight to horsepower ratio in mind for the beast?

Edit: Never mind, I just saw you timeslip at 11.07 as suspect you want the 10.XX time thus the need to reduce weight!! LOL

Sooooooooo.... you just gonna put the driver seat back in? That would reduce some serious weight.

So, what systems now no longer work on the car? I know there wasn't really 10 pounds of redundant wires there.
