I believe that the OEM satellite tuner is hidden behind the dash somewhere (except for the antenna) and simply connects to the OEM radios. Then you use the radio to change the channel on the satellite tuner.
If your only concern with your aftermarket setup is that it sticks out 1/8", then maybe you should look INTO getting one of the dash kits. I've heard that some of them are up to 1/8" thick (others are thinner, so you may need to ask around).
Just a thought...
The OEM satellite tuner, if installed the way the directions tell you to install it, is mounted in the rear by the left rear speaker. The wiring harness is longer than the length of the car.
Oh yeah...You know it does..........
ID and wm, thanks for the insight, but i learned my base stereo is Sat compatible..
