Tweeter Location in Front Door Panel

I will be removing the stock Boston Acoustics audio system in the near future and upgrading with an aftermarket audio system. I have a million questions to ask about making the change, but I will start first by asking all you LX owners about tweeter location when using a 2-way component set for my front soundstage. Keep in mind I don't want to use the factory dash locations.
    My questions are:
-Where have people found success in mounting tweeters in the door panel?
-Has anyone liked using a coaxial mount in the door opening?
-Has anyone found an easy and effective mounting for a 3-way setup?
I appreciate any and all help in dealing with my questions and I would love any photos you have to display your setup. Thanks in advance.

Here's where I mounted my tweets. I have the Boston SL60 components in the front doors and SL65 coax's in the rear deck. I also installed the S35 coax's in the front dash location for some additional fill. Sounds great!

Can I ask why you don't want to use the dash locations? I have a Focal 3-way set that uses the stock door and dash locations and the tweeters are mounted flush in the dash just inboard of the factory locations.

My former high dollar audio system in my previous vehicle had the tweeters initially mounted in the dash. I could not get them out of there quickly enough and put them in the doors 6" above the mid/woofer.
I believe the dash location is problematic due to phase alignment issues with the large distance to the mid/woofer and the reflective nature of the glass distorting the sound.

I went to see an installer yesterday and he suggested to either have the tweeters mounted coaxially over the mid/woofer or to use the 6"x9" plate in the door to house the tweeter and the mid/woofer.

That is cool. It will make you sound stage really low. Like at the floor. Most of the new speakers that are made are designed for the tweeter to be seperated. The reason the engineer are doing this is because most car tweeter are located higher. They are making tweeter so they can play lower and that is also why tweeters are getting bigger.

Any more pics of your system? Looking at the list of things installed it seams to be pretty nice.

I just put mine in the stock locations. I made a bezel for the tweeter and mounted were the 3.5" speakers used to be. To me they sound good. It also to depends of the type of speakers you use. I use arc audio arc series 6.5"( their top of the line ones). I ve had $1,000 components before, these sound such better at haft the price. Also Im 6'6" , I dont like when they are mounted next to the woofer, to low for me. I think later this year when I redo my interior and audio system, I might move them to the pillers up front

That is the best thing ta do. I got them in the stock locations and they sound great. A lot of guys put them in the a pillars or near the door handle. Just place them in a few different places and see what you like. Guys always make up kick panels for a 3 way system, but it's just more of a pain in the ass to tune. It really depends on what speakers you are using and the off axis response. If you do it right you shouldn't be able to tell wear exactly the speakers are. I also have my sub 180 degrees out of phase which sounds great in these cars. What are you looking to go with for gear?
