Is there a way to "convert" Sirius to XM

My Sirius is about to expire and was wondering if there was a way to make the radio get the XM signal instead. I'm guessing I'll probably have to buy another reciever for it but wanted to ask first.....

    Thanks for any help.

Supposedly you can use the factory antenna (didnt ework for me). You would need a new tuner/receiver but I dont think there's one that will talk with the bus and headunit.

I tried the stock antenna with 2 different XM tuners when I installed the new stereo and all I got was some bad electrical noise. On a side note, I put the XM antenna under the rear deck panel right by the rear window and have no issues with reception

I read the other day the merge is not going to happen. Google XM Direct connect, they make modules for factory systems. Allows you to use head unit to access XM, kinda like you do now with Sirius

Huh?? I didn't give you much info??? What would you like - the schematics and code?

I sent you a very nice explanation of what's involved with doing this. This is not some plug and play module that you can go pick up and wire in yourself. I'm sorry if you did not understand my message.

I will not be making units to sell directly myself.
    .
The single prototype is just that - there exists only one of these units. It is a "black box" style interface that translates between two dissimilar devices. To understand what it does, you have to understand what the interfaces are.

For Sirius functionality, the DCX factory radios only know how to talk to the integrated Sirius module. The Sirius module is a microprocessor based unit that communicates over the vehicle CAN network. For XM functionality, I used an XM-Direct module, that only knows how to talk to XM ready head units.

My black box sits on the vehicle network and emulates the communication of the Sirius unit (the car "thinks" it has Sirius installed), and it interfaces to the XM-Direct unit (which thinks it is attached to an XM ready head unit). There is a ton of software code in the black box that does management of channel listings, downloads to the head unit and real-time translating of Artist/Title info.
