    Sub Woofer Install Project

I took the spare tire out of the rear area. Then took measurements and plan on enclosing the battery and fuse box area. With that in mind, I have the following measurements to play with:

    Width: 24"
    Height: 15"
    Length: 18"

I am planning on installing two 10" Alpine Type R Subs.

    Mount Depth: 6.8"
    Mount Diameter: 9.1"
    Displacement: .050 cubic feet

I want a sealed enclosure .75 cubic feet for each. I went to a couple of sites and the closes I could come with for this type of enclosure was a box with the following dimensions:
    Depth: 10"
    Width: 12"
    Height: 12"

According to these sites, my volume would be .7833. Would some of you please double check my figures...or if you have a better suggestion for this setup please let me know.

    Update

    All,

I didn't receive any comments but wanted to update for those of you that are looking into installing their subs on the floor of their Maggies. I will be building the box(es) this holiday weekend and will take plenty of pictures. I'll also be running speaker wire from the front to the back to hook up my 4-Channel Amp. I say this as I am fairly new at this A/V game and wanted to make a thread from "this" perspective.

I appreciate all those that have posted to my previous threads and entertained all my questions.

Check here is a great site http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp under Volume Calculator - Rectangular/Square Enclosures

    a 10x12x12 (using .75" mdf) will give you 0.54232ft3 - .05 = 0.49232ft3 internal vol

    Sealed Box

Yes, speaker displacement is so basic that sometimes many tend to leave compute it into the total volume.

    Amp Rack

    Hey all,

I want to make an amp rack and install it on the back of the rear seat. I am worried that the amp rack mounting screws will penatrate and cause discomfort to those riding in the rear seat.

Can any of you give me some ideas or safe bets?

    Thanks.
