Something weird happend the other day.

I had meant to post this a while ago.

One evening I got back home from work and parked my car in my garage. Later I noticed that my RKE didn't work. I got my second key and it worked fine. My primary key remote would not open the doors or anything. I thought I had a bad battery so I replaced it. Tried again and it still didn't work.

I was pretty pissed. I figured I would have to take it in for a new key and reprogramming which means putting it back to stock with the predator etc...

Well for the hell of it I put the non-working RKE in and tried to start it. The car started up just fine. I then shut it off and tried to open the doors and it all worked again. WTH? It continues to work fine. No problems at all.

So now I'm confused. Why would the car shun my key and then later after starting it up would it work fine?

My 2008 300 has done that since day one every now and then. But for about 6 months I switched to the second key and it has not happened since. The first time it happened I was at dinner with my wife and son and came out and could not open the car. So I use the valet key and ended up trying to start the car and it worked. So I turned the car off and pressed the button and it works again, I was like WTF!!! So every time it happened I would just start the car and remove the key and it would work again, so Dunno whats up with the new keys but my second key does not do this.

Yep, that's the same thing. Maybe it's just a 2008 problem?

There is a recall on the key fobs, something to do with connections inside the fob...If you have not had them swapped out yet try that....i have an 08 and dont have this issue but i have different fobs than when i bought car

never heard of this but it sounds like a transmitter issue.

CSN H30 is for key retention failure, not an internal issue.

There is a recall for the 08's, but its for th lockout key not staying attached to the fob.

Maybe this is how the car tells you that the RKE battery is low if you don't have EVIC? You replace the battery and then start the car to complete the procedure?
