    sirius static

I recently installed a sirius starmate 4...the static drives me crazy. Does anyone know of a good aftermarket sirius fm transmitter that will boost the signal? I checked on Ebay, and there are FM transmitters that are made by sirius that claim to increase the signal, but can anyone confirm that is true?

Don't go FM Modulator if you can help it man. If you have to... get one that actually plugs into the back of the radio inline w/ the antenna.

i've got the starmate 4 installed...it's too late to get one that'll plug right in to the back of my headunit...my car didn't come equipped with sirius satellite radio, although now i've upgraded to the stock dodge headunit with aux jack.

I don't mean plug in like the factory kind - that's ideal but more $$$ especially if you already have the starmate. I mean get an FM modulator that plugs into the antenna jack instead of transmitting wirelessly... not much room for interference that way.

The FCC made Sirius and XM pad the power down so much on thier wireless FM transmitters that they made them useless. You will need the FMDA25.

I added an extra long wire out of the Sirius Ant. out port and connected it to the body of the factory radio, works perfect. until I get an after market head unit installed.
Mods so far (in order): Color matched strut covers, fuse panel and washer bottle lid. Shaved rear emblems, Silverstar Ultras, Mobile1 syn. Removed air silencer, AFE stage 2, Sirius Radio, Energy 6.5 doors, Energy 10" sub, R1 drilled/slotted rotors and Quasi quiet pads .

Okay so I got the FM modulator...I took out the radio to connect it all up, and because things are never so simple in my life, it looks like I need the adaptor for the modulator before I can plug it into my antenna jack on the back of the radio.

If that wasn't clear, essentially the plug on the FM modulator doesn't match the female antenna input on the stock headunit. I need the adaptor so that it'll work.

Anyone know where I can get an adaptor/connector that'll work for the stock LX radio?

forget it...I did a little more reading and realized that you can use the aux jack to hook it up...this is the most simple way to do it. I'm going to return the FM modulator.

I had the same problem for years, got used to it. Tried cassette adaptor, but that wasn't perfect either. Just bought the OEM unit that plugs into my stock radio so it sounds great, and works with my steering wheel controls. Best move ever.

Good luck getting yours hooked up that way. There is no such thing as a good FM transmitter.
