Sirius sat radio problems, those who have it I have a question..

Ok, I have an 06 MSRT-8 with the REC radio and Sirious sat ready. I subscribed to Sirious and they show that my car is sat ready (I have the antenna on the roof) but even after they enabled it, no Sirius. When I switch to the sat I have no sound at all, and I cannot turn the volume up from where it is, only down. Say the volume is at 10, I can only turn it down and then not up, but the whole time there is no sound. The display says that it is on channel 184 and prompts me to call the Sirius phone number, I cannot tune the channel up or down.

I called Sirius and they told me how to press eject/set button at the same time to check the ESN and it is correct, my radio shows what they show from my VIN info. Where is the Sirius box/tunerin the Maggie? I will look to see if it is unplugged or something.

The car is still under warranty so I can take it in if it is a radio or Sirius tuner problem, but I am stationed at Ft. Huachuca for a bit longer and it is not easy to take it in while here, I would rather do it once I get back to Dallas. In other words, if there is a way to fix it here I would rather do so.

I have looked behind the radio and everything is hooked up. I have checked all fuses in the rear, all good.

I appreciate any help you can give me, thank you.

Give Sirius a call, again, when you're in your car. Make sure the key is on and the radio is set to Sat mode. Ask them, nicely, to enable your radio again.

It sounds like the last time it was done, the receiver didn't get the message that you're legit. It happened to me in my '06 CSRT8 and with my portable Stiletto. I had to have them re-enable twice to get these things working.

If all you get is 184, that's the default "no service" channel. Once your receiver get's the high sign from the sat, it will display "updating channels". Once that message goes away, you're golden.

    Hope this helps,
    Bob

The reciever is located behind the left rear panel behind the rear seat.
