Sirius/pioneer stuff, solution for whoever runs into this problem
Very specific to the title. My sirius seemed to just lock up on its own. Its a stratus 5 interfaced with a car kit/pioneer cd-sb10(the module that allows sirius to talk to the head unit, and an AVH p4000dvd deck, also pioneer. Anyways I changed channels on the deck and it just froze on that channel. I had absolutely no touch screen controls over the sirius no volume no text scroll couldnt even skip thru my presets. So after ripping the dash apart and back probing the pioneer BUS harness` pins I concluded no wires were pinched nor shorting to one another. On to the sirius radio itself. It tested out just fine on the home kit. Ruled that out.Bad connection between car dock and sb10 module? Nope harness connected securely. How about power into the SB10 module? tested input was full voltage. What the hell now? Lastly and two hours later for giggles and last ditch effort I pulled the fuse powering the SB10 module. Checked fuse, its fine, as it woulda been obvious when I checked the module for voltage. Inserted fuse back in and presto, my sirius interfaced with my head unit once again. Im concluding the SB10 module had a bit of a brain fart and needed to be reset via fuse pull. Ah the wonders of modern day complex electronics.
