    sirius backseat tv

I installed the mopar VES system in my 2008 charger with mygig. Is there anyway to get Backseat tv? Is it a seperate module from the sirius radio module? Or is it just an "activation" in the mygig radio by a starscan tool? My car already has the large sirius dual antenna.

IIRC, there's an additional module for Sirius TV.
there may be more now but, as of last year, only Disney channel was available.

Any part numbers or additional information on it? There are 3 channels available now.

Ther is another module and antenna for the tv.I'm not sure it would work because it would have to be in the build configuration in the tipm or fcm.The only way to add it is to add the sales code with chrysler on dealerconnect and then download the new configuration. The problem is that sirius tv is not available as an add on at the present time so the sales code can't be added. This is just speculation on my part, because I have never tried this or seen anyone do it.But this is based on my experience working as a dealership tech.I really don't think it would work.

That is odd that no one knows the part# of the "missing" module. This makes me think it uses the same module as the Sirius audio but requires an "activation" of an internal module in the radio. I had them look up Sirius tuners for an 08 charger at the parts counter and they could only find 1. ANYBODY??????

It really does have a seperate module and antenna.Even if you were able to get all the parts you might not be able to make it work.I really don't think it is possible. If its not in the vehicle build configuration, the TIPM won't turn it on.It's a little more involved than just plugging it in and powering it up.It needs to see a specific message over the bus.Unless you got ahold of a Starscan with engineering software...

I was pretty PO'd To pay $1000 for a backseat screen. I was expecting a DVD player and Sirius Backseat TV. I had them yank it and give me my money back. Later I bought one on eBay for $250 installed it myself... But still no Backseat TV

Click here for the new module that can be added to most existing video screens for $299 plus about $7 per month.
