SAT: Updating Channels....

I think I know the answer, but... I bought my 2005 RT a month ago, and the seller told me "I paid the sirius bill up through the end of the year" Now on the 1st of OCT, It's stopped working, I get "Updating Channels" and it scrolls to channel 184... Does this mean the subscription has expired ? or is Sirius' signal down... or worse, is something broken ? I can't get the seller to respond ( in all fairness, it's only been today) Also if the subscription is expired, are there any deals out there costwise ? Looks like $133 per year on their site...
