    REJ Navigation Unit

So I finally get a factory Chrysler Nav unit kit that I purchased on ebay months ago, and the installation goes flawless. I am done the upgrade in 15 minutes!

But then I pop in the Nav Disc and the system just reads LOADING... and never completes. Then I notice the REJ in the lower right of the unit rather than the REC that I read about on the internet. So I do a little research and it appears that I have a European Nav unit that is not compatible in North America.

Is this True? Is there a mod to convert it or do I have to find a REC unit?
To avoid more problems, what part number(s) should I be looking for to ensure that I don't end up with bad REC unit (ie. broken joystick)?

can someone tell me how I can tell if the Nav disc is different for the European and American units? I'll need to know if I have the wrong disc too.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I waited almost 4 months to get this unit only to get something that I can't use.

Check past threads. There was someone in Europe with the reverse problem...maybe you can work out a trade deal.

You have to find a REC... but yeah, someone else got screwed on the opposite end of the stick. Post the part number on the disc and someone can help you there...

SuperT, not only are the DVD's different (European vs. US maps) the radios themselves are unique so I'm not sure whether it is the DVD or the radios itself...maybe both. Apparently the European radios tune to odd, even, or every decimal FM frequency (I'm just not sure) and the US/ Cdn units are the reverse.

Perhaps someone who is from Europe could shed some light on the subject.

Sorry man it sounds like u got screwed. REJ units only work with the disc that are made for them. and those disc only contain maps for that part of the world.

There is no way around it. Even if you were able to get a disk that works on the REJ unit it will be useless to u as it doesn not contain a map for the area u will be using the unit.

    REJ is for Europe

Check out 300cforums there was a Girl In Great Britain that got transferred from Canada for her company, she was looking for an REJ in trade for her REC...

I can't recall her user name, but check the Euro forums there, she posted several threads on it.

Well, I guess that I can take comfort that I have the correct Disc (05064033AE).
