    REC CD and DVD optical lenses?

    Does the REC nav unit have separate optical lenses to read CDs and one to read DVDs? Thanks

    the dvd is a totally separate motor/laser, yes... the map dvd is in at all times. the radio doesn't have firmware to recognize any other discs.
