Only $2400! I'll take 3! Looks purdy and all... but that's a lot of beer money:D
If you don't want the Nav unit it is around $1500. This is the most popular unit in our store. I have some ideas about the steering wheel buttons but haven't tried any yet.
So if you ORDER the car without the Nav. then you can still install this? You have to buy a new radio housing?Originally Posted by Randar_462
Earcandy nice install.
Were you ever able to work out the CANBUS whine issues you were HAVING a while back with this unit?
What is the part number for the double din Dash kit and where did you find it.
Great to see a standard doubledin unit fits in there nicely. I was looking at the Eclipse AVN2454.

I did take my time cutting the dash piece. A new one ran about $130.00 so I ordered one and started cutting a small amount at a time. I had the fac. 6 disc/cass and it has a white sleeve that it slides INTO that is screwed INTO the back space behind the radio, I had to trim these small ramp like spots of of it and the Kenwood fit right in pretty snug.Originally Posted by DjPiLL
Then I took a Metra kit #99-6507(Durango kit) and sacrificed it to fill in the half moon shapes on the sides once I was done the kenwood mounts just like the fac. radio/
A 6-disc changer fit great under the front passenger seat, the nav unit will fit in the back spare area if you like and the sirius brain fits behind the glove box. Best of all I can return it back to stock with no problems all the pieces I altered are replaceable at minimal cost. I did have noise but I just kept trouble shooting for about a week but finally got it all worked out. I did use a Harness metra part#70-6701 that has the amp plug and radio plug. so no wires are cut. Working on a sub enclosure. the kenwood is all single din cable (ex sat antenna) running wire are easy the Kenwood amp are pretty nice and you can control and monitor up to 8 different amps (temp, volt, settings etc..) FROM the head unit I still like my Diamond amps but that control is pretty sweet. The Focals are the BEST on the Market!! I know they are pricey and most people will not spend that much on spkrs I can appreciate that, Diamond Audio Hex spkr are awesome as well. I love this ride. I have about 25 years in moblie security and audio/video it has been along time since I have been excited about a vehicle. Thanks Dodge!! :D
I don't like the half moon control covers that are present around the head unit. It looks like left overs of the factory unit. Are you planning on getting a new insert?
Oh yeah...You know it does..........
I know it would probably take only a few hours to fill in those moons and then sand and repaint, I would not be able to match the dotted pattern of the dash piece. So I didn't sweat it. I did CHECK a dash piece that is for the factory nav and it would require quite a bit of work to fit it in so I chose my way, there are also 2 clips on the out side of the moons that snap INTO the radio trim/factory radio. I just didn't think it was that big a deal.
Nice job Earcandy. I have decided to use the same unit in my Mag. Any tips you can give to avoid the whine noise when installing?
