Im looking to buy a double din HU. It will be dvd and touch screen only... no nav. I was trying to avoid buying an OEM nav bezel. So my question is... has anyone tried cutting the non nav bezel to fit a double din kit. I want to just stop by best buy and pick up the DDIN kit. Anyone have some advice? I saw Jamminwagons write up in the knowledge base but Im trying to be as lazy about this as possible. i know someone has raised this question before.
Remember... cheapest and least work! Thanks for any help.
It's been done but you need to have the tools and knowhow to cut-sand-prime-paint plastic. IMO I would just buy the navigation bezel and then get the DDIN kit off eBay for $7.

Thats the thing. It doesnt really seem like you should have to do alot of work if you are handy with a dremel. The nav bezel measures 5" x 8 1/4". So if I just cut mine to fit those dimensions than I should be able to just put the DDIN install kit right in right? It doesnt seem like I should have to do alot of finish work with the plastic. Sorry if this is redundant issue in this forum. I just want to have as much info as possible before I commit to cutting my dash. Thanks.
