I just got a custom box done and it sounds good, I was hating the box in the trunk. It looked out of place, and this is much cleaner. There will be a trim grille made to cover the sub, I actually like the look of it though. I need to get some dynamat like i did for my last C with 2 12s. There is just a small Alpine Mono Amp running it and it KILLS the Kicker set up. This package in case you are wondering was VERY cheap. I got the amp for $150.00 the Sub for $75 and the box and cover done for $200.00. I sold my Kicker stuff for $250.00 or so.

Inside the car I have the Kappa 4" in the deck (enlarged the holes from the standard 3.5") and I have alpine 6x9s in the rear.

Very clean. I too am hating the idea of a big box in my trunk, so thats the best way to go in my opinion for a show and go look. Liking the prices too!

Yes I asked him to glass in my foam container that was back there.. It would not adhere, and he said this would sound fine, and be cheaper. Its 3/4" MDF.

Very nice! I have the "S" series all the way around (dash/door/rear) and love them. I had 2 10 "S" but wound up smoking one of them and wanted to go to a single 12" and more power (Alpine M605). What gets me is that the M605 is rated at 600w, the "R" 12" is rated at 500w. and the "X" subs are 1000w. So basically nothing really fit the M605. So I went with the TREO (750w).

Any pics of the "naked" box?

I had a old bird cage and removed the bottom. Then put in a couple of ping pong balls it looked like a bingo ball thingy hahaha. Maybe I should have used a couple of fuzzy dice and make it look like the game Bobble (i think). The one with the clear dome and dice to roll.

I will take some pics later. The box is not much to look at thats for sure... Just a plain mdf with the shape cut to fit the angle of the trunk. As I think about it, I wish I could have got the box installed under the rear deck like I once had in my old C. I dont think the 12 would have fit tho.
