Need Help Determining dealer cost on Nav System.

Just need some info if someone has it.

As a part of my deal when I purchased my Magnum, I worked INTO the deal that they would provide me with the Nav System for there cost. The car was so new at the time, that they did not have the cost available.

Well low and behold after waiting 2 months the system finally arrived. Now the dealer is quoting me something beyond bull---- as their cost. I want to nail them on this one.

I was wondering if anyone had a little inside information on the dealer cost for that system, part # 82208653, with bezel #82209312 for the Magnum.

Anyone who is able to provide proof of this info, your help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance to all.

You could go to edmunds and price out a car with the nav system. It breaks down the options with both retail and invoice. Doesn't have the bezel but at least that is a start. You might also send an email to Jeff at MoparSupercenter and see if he will provide you with the information.

higher, sorry.. it makes sense that it would be cheaper to slap it in FROM the beginning, rather than ship it around and have it take up inventory space, etc..

You're kidding right?! Must be nice to pay whatever and not care what the final cost is.

    Well Earcandy...

I never asked for it for free, I only asked that I'm extended the promise that was made to me as a customer and that was written up in my contract. I'm in manufacturing and I deal with customers on the daily basis. I have on occasion had to satisfy a customer by offering some discounted pricing on my products. Not in every situation, but those cirumstances that warrant the offer.

This has nothing to do with being cheap, nor am I hard up for money. Any good consumer should weight out there options before purchase and make the correct decisions. Just because you are OK with paying full price for that option, if you have that option, doesn't mean other people who are getting better deals are cheap. We're just more careful with our money. They didn't have any navigation RT's on the lot, and that's what I wanted. I was able to work a better deal. But to have the dealer tell me that on the 1795.00 list price that they pay 1785.00, that's horse----! That let's me know that the dealer is now trying to take advantage of me as a customer. A customer who was willing to pay sticker for the vehicle.

I don't lie to my customers, nor should anyone else in business, but it happens. The difference between those who accept it and those who don't is usually the reason why some stay rich and others don't.

But I can respect your opinion. I do have some great florida beachfront property for sale if you're interested .

Why don't you just ask them to SHOW you the invoices proving that they pay what they say they do? It seems to me that they would have some paperwork showing their cost.

I do care what the final cost but I also expect to pay a premium price for a premium service or product. I do expect to get what I pay for and I usually do, Most of the sales people I have dealt with take care of me when I need something because they know I will not waste their time or my own haggling over a few dollars. But you can bet your butt I am the first to scream at them if they have taken advantage of me.
I have a sign in my store at the checkout counter that says: :D "Quality is like buying oats if you want fresh premium oats, expect to pay a fair price. However if if you are happy with oats that have have already been through the horse.....those are a little cheaper"

I think their invoice on the car is just going to SHOW the total price of the car. Its not going to be broken down by option.

Your best bet is to do the Edmunds... or even better carsdirect.com cause that gives you a more "fair" price that you can use against the dealer.

well, invoice on the nav option REC is $1743 with an MSRP of $1895, but that's installed at the factory, which can't be compared directly to the cost of the part FROM the dealer.. this is for the magnum, i'm not sure if it's the same for the 300..

HI,the list price for the parts you have listed FROM the catalog are $2225.00 and $69.00. i know there is not as much markup on acc. items as there is on regular parts.plus you still have install labor for the above items.you did not mention what they are trying to charge you??

The way I'm reading this is you got the car first and the dealer ordered the nav system and bezel to be installed when they came in. If that is correct, then they should have paperwork that came with the radio and bezel - and it should SHOW their cost. You can ask and see if they can provide it.
With that said, leeparts.com list the nav radio at $1975.00 and bezel at $69.00. At moparsupercenter.com, the nav radio is listed at "Retail Price: $1795.00" and "Online Price: $1667.50" and no bezel listed. At wyckoff-mopar-parts.com, the nav radio is listed at "Regular price: $1,795.00" and "Sale price: $1,659.95" with the bezel priced at $59.00.
