    NAV Unit

I have to say that the NAV unit is the biggest POS I've ever used. I was sitting in front of Circuit City in Manassas Va. It has been there for years.
I tried to look it up and I was given Winchester, va and Rockville, MD as the closest. Both are a good distance away. Then I tried looking up Bestbuy and I got fairfax and winchester. I tried Staples and got some place 1500 miles away. I'm going back to using my Garmin.

What version are you running? Do you have the AE disc?

Not being overly protective of the Nav... I hate the lookup system as well... but you may want to get the latest version anyway.

I'd agree that this thing is a POS. There are too many "unverified" roads and counties, and when looking up an individual business, instead of it listing the nearest businesses with the same name, it makes you guess what category it is, such as "restaurant" or "bar". Well, if it's a BW3 that you're looking for, it could be either, but if you pick the wrong one, it's going to be sending you to Nome, Alaska even though you're looking for a BW3 in Miami, FL.

It's better than nothing, but it is one of the worst GPS units I've ever used.

It's not the fault of the Nav unit... It's the version of data that feeds it, and NAVTEQ develops the dvds

The NAV unit isn't bad overall, but the lookup function is definitely one of its weaknesses. I use Google now.

I agree, for any given business they'll have like 15 variations of the name. Makes it a little daunting to find things sometimes. But a search by type of store (electronics, for example) sorted by distance almost always comes through. You couldn't pay me to use something that wasn't integrated into the radio. Hopefully the MyGig improves on things though.
