    MyGig Battery Drain

Has anyone experienced having their MyGig(specifically on pre-08 installations) drawing their battery down to completely flat in a short time-say 5-6 hours?

This is with either of the "LockPick" devices, TV and Nav2Go or Coastal ETech, or even no lockpick device in the circuit.

I've been doing some experimenting and it has happened twice with mine.

Any hints, no matter how off the wall they may seem will be appreciated.

Michael - were you swapping components or plugging/unplugging the radio while the vehicle battery was connected? I've had this happen a few times when I "hot plug" devices. If you pop out the radio fuse or the IOD, it will usually stop this from happening.

I've even seen it on vehicles without the Lockpick or similar devices. I think it's actually the MyGig causing it, not the interfaces.

    Hi Jon,

Good point-I had forgotten about the issue of "hot plugging", and that is exactly what I have been doing.

I've got the battery charging right now so once it's up to full speed I'll plug the MyGig back in before reconnecting the battery then I can see what happens.

    Thanks for the input......

If you bought the MyGig used this TSB might apply. If it does basically the MYGig is useless.
