MY questions on upgrading from BA to Kicker ...

So I've been thinking for a while that when I'm gonna install the 300SRT leather/chrome door pulls that I might as well upgrade the front door Boston Acoustics speakers to the Kicker speakers available through moparsupercenter.com .... the OEM Kickers from the SRT8 ...

MY questions, which were not answered after searching the forum already

:

1. Will it sound better ?

2. Will it sound OK only doing the front door speakers ?

3. Are the Kicker front door speakers 1-way speakers ? (mid-bass / mid-range ?)

4. Are the Boston Acoustics front door speakers 1-way speakers ? (mid-bass / mid-range ?)

5. Would it be worth it for me to upgrade to the 368 amp while leaving the rest of the speakers stock (plus the front Kickers ?)

And apparently there are 2 different front speaker upgrade kits .... just to make things more confusing ....

A single speaker kit using 2-way speakers :

Or a dual speaker kit, which seems to be what I'd need, since I already have dash speakers :

Anybody have any wisdom for me ?

You have the BA right now? BA has in dash speakers so you'd need the dual speaker kit plus rear kit. I upgraded everything including the amp on mine and i felt there was a difference in sound.

I don't wanna bother with the rear speakers .... I'm wondering if I can do just the front doors or the doors/dash speakers ... and maybe upgrade the amp ...

The front door speakers are crossed over @ a mid bass frequency by the factory amp. Any upgrade to the front doors should be to improve bass response; 2 way speakers won`t do much to the overall sound quality. If you want better bass, drop some coin on a good pair of 6x9 mid bass. The 368 amp is a nice upgrade to a stock system imho. Lastly, be sure any speakers you purchase are 2 ohm; that matches factory specs and will net the most out of your factory amp.

Unless you double the power (and then you will only gain 3db's) you will not notice a difference.

Maybe not wisdom for you Gabe, but this is the factory Kicker setup I bought from Todd. And it's both of the pics you showed as 1 setup.

The speaker in the middle looks to be for the rear deck .... is that the way you installed them ?

I added the kicker amp to my BA system, sounds great.

But the BIGGEST upgrade should be a sub. I am running a 10" single sub with an alpine amp running 350W @ 2ohms. Sounds great! Not like aluminum cans in the trunk!

I actually haven't installed them yet! LOL
But I assumed that the coaxials in the middle picture go in the front door while the remaining 6x9's (with the larger magnet) go in the rear of the car.

Wel, in the pics I posted above (from moparsupercenter's site), they show the tweeter packaged with the one-way 6x9 as a "front" package ....

If you want some better speakers and not a lot of hassle go with the infinity kappas. They are nice 2ohm speakers that will blow the other speakers away. If you want to do anything more then that, u really need to gut the system which is costly and not really worth it unless you are really into car audio.
