    Magnum RT Front Dash Speaker Installation Help

    To All;

    I have found several refernces to individuals upgrading the front dash 3.5" speakers as I am in the process of doing. I have Boston Acoustic FX3 for ther front dash, and Pro 6.2's for the rear. FROM what I have read, I am leaving the front door speakers as is.

    How do you remove the dash cover to access the 3.5" speakers?

    Thanks

    You only need to remove the plastic strip that runs FROM side to side and between the dash and windshield. It comes off in one piece and is held in by spring clips. To get it off you just have to pull up after prying up a corner.

    According to my shop manual, the speaker covers simply pry off, then there are two fasteners that hold the speaker. No need to remove the whole dash cover.

    I had to remove both A pillar covers to remove the one piece speaker cover. As with most things on this car it just snaps INTO place. In my car, this was the only way to get the cover to come off.

    When you start pulling the speaker cover off, slide your hand underneath to give it some support until it pops loose.

    Thanks! I thought the piller covers would have to come off, but they looked really secure. I am presuming they simply snap on.

    I will give it a try. It's supposed to rain tommow and I really want to install the new speakers tongiht.

    They are pretty secure but they will eventually give up. If you have the security GROUP you will see some of the hardware for the side air bags under there. I think there were two or three plastic push pins under the cover.

    To All;

    Thanks to all for your help. I finshed the installation last night of my Boston Acoustic FX3 replacement dash speakers and am very pleased. Next up, to install my Pro 6.2's in the rear this weekend.

    I have written up a "How To" for others that want to do this and submitted it for posting.

    Thanks
