Ok so i really like buying my audio stuff from crutchfield.com as they are usually really great but i am little lost this time.
They are telling me i cant put any 6x9's back there due to a depth issue??????
Anyone have any ideas why they would be telling me this???
The reason i am questioning it is cause a local Car audio store told me i can put a 6x9 in there and so does circuitcity and bestbuy.....
i am a little lost so can any of you audio gurus help a fellow Lxer out?????

No issue with depth???
6x9's fit. I have infinity 6x9's in mine. They sound great

The stocks are fairly shallow, but the rear kicker upgrades are also 6x9. When I tapped into my rear passenger side for sub input, seemed like there was a good amount of room as long as you don't have too-large a magnet.
Funny, at crutchfield it shows factory replacement info of the front doors and rear speakers being 6x9 but that they don't have 6x9's that fit. Seems like you should be safe.
May want to look at Boston Acoustics SX line which use higher-power magnets that allow them to use smaller size

I have a set of infinity 6x9s and they would fit as far as depth is concerned. Unfortunately, the housing is to wide and I just got some spacers that should fix it.

Procrastination is the key to flexibility.
I've put 2 different sets of 6x9s in the back. A set of Pioneers & a set of Alpines. They both had bigger magnets & were taller than the stock 6x9s. They both fit fine. You have to start them at an angle but they drop right in. Much improved sound by the way. Good luck.

Just did a test fit of my Rockards and no issue with depth at all..
Need to find a plug to retro fit the factory harness though as I don't wanna cut into the car harness, Mind you I may say screw it and make my own from the OEM speakers..

Crutchfield is on CRACK. There's plenty of depth. Just the diameter of the magnet could be an issue.
Crutchfield does have the adapters you need though. So you don't have to cut the wires.

hmm I got some pioneers 6x9 back there and I actually just placed them in there, do to da fact The magnet was just a slight to big so I couldn't screw the speaker down. But, once I placed the speaker cover over it, never had any issues after two year.
I did just put some in with a large magnet and it's a very tight fit. I just barely got them in and it's pushing on the plastic below. Be careful of the magnet size and you'll be ok.
(Waiting "patiently" for the 300C SRT8 8-speed) Coming.....soon?
