Infinity Kappa's in Base 6 speaker system?

I have searched the forum and have found much positive info on adding the Infinity Kappa's to the stock BA system but did not find anyone who had added the 2ohm Kappas to the stock 6 speaker system which I have in my 300 Limited. I am thinking the 3.5 Kappas up front, the 2way 6x9's in the doors and rear or possibly the 3way 6x9's in the back due to the full range of signal being supplied there. I also was looking at the 10" bass link as a sub. How do you guys think just replacing the stock speakers with the Kappas would do on the base system? Would the bass go away and would I need the BassLink?
    Thanks

I have not found a good replacement for the door speakers. I tried 3 different speakers in the door and they sounded all but dead. So, I left the OEM door speakers and replaced the other 4 with Inifnity Reference speakers.

Thanks for your post... Does your car have the base 6 speaker or the BA system with amp? I am trying to determine if the 2ohm Kappas are the right choice or after your post, are the 4ohm Reference suitable and possibly the better choice. From what I have read the stock speakers are 2ohm, at least on the BA system and I do not want to lose any volume by switching to 4ohm units, as the base 6 speaker system is power limited to begin with.
    Thanks

I replaced my stock speakers with Kappas. Sounds great. I put 6x9's in the back, 6.5's in the doors (6x9's were stock) and also did the mid's/tweets on the dash..

Also stuck in a Basslink X for some added thump.. (not too much though)

Sounds like the Kappas are a good choice... how was the bass compared to the stock speakers? Sound volume?

Found they were comparable in volume.. but I listen to it quieter with the better speakers.. Better tones come from the speakers so it's is much more enjoyable to listen. (not so muddy)

I have the 6 speaker BA system with amp. If you search for Infinity Reference, you'll find that there are many others with these speakers. Some have reported similar problems to what I've experienced with my door speakers. When I tried the 3 differrent speakers, I installed one side and compared it with the stock one in the other door (using the balance control on the radio). I though the Kappas had a lower sensitivity rating. I also thought that meant they needed more to drive them. This is why I went with the References instead.
