I need clarification about the stock radio

I've went to two car audio retailers today and got two different stories. I want to add my own amps subs an highs to my stock srt8 nav etc... First shop said i couldn't do it that it wasn't possible. Then the next shop i went said that it was possible through a gizmo that would give the stock radio 12v output to any amp so that i could run my subs and highs. well i guess my question is. is there anybody running there own amps off of the the stock srt8 system? and if so. how and what are you using? and would you be kind enough to post picks?

I am running a Hifonics Colossus-II on my stock RT with nav. The outputs on the nav are about 2v, which works ok. Its nothing to be concered about. I have 3200 RMS running on it and it gives me some issues, but not enough for me to go out and get an 8v line driver.

I have no clue what that "gizmo" is, but dont get screwed over. I wish I had an SRT8 so I could give you more info and pics, but Ive never worked with one of them.

If there is no factory amp you could use a line output converter. It turns the speaker outputs into rcas for an amp.

Yeah I have the factory amp by the way. Will this be the determining factor?

the adapter that mr. incredible has would be the best bet. other then that you could unplug the factory amp, than add a line output converter so you could hookup rca's behind the radio. that would only work if you were planning on adding both a 4 channel and sub amp though
