I installed the Satellite Reciever -- now what????

Okay, I got the Sirius Reciever and Wiring Harness and everything FROM the Mopar Super Center. I received it Friday and I now have the receiver, antennae and wiring harness all installed.

I activated it and everything and it is working fine.

The ONE problem I am HAVING is on the EVIC. When I have the SAT Radio selected, my EVIC shows NO SIGNAL. Now, obviously I have a signal because I am listening to the music.

The installation instructions SHOW nothihng about programming anything becuase of the SAT radio being installed.

Can someone with the SAT radio installed tell me what the EVIC displays when you are listening to it?

If someone knows the fix, shout it out.

Last thing, I said I would post pictures, but there is NO Way. I had the entire left side of the car taken apart, the rear seat out, and just a big mess!
    Oh yeah...You know it does..........

I called the MoparSuperCenter and talked with Jeff. He said he talked with his mechanic foreman and told me there is some 800 number I need to call to UPDATE the EVIC. I guess I'll be looking for that number.

Well, it's nice to be HAVING a conversation with myself.

I talked to Jeff again, he said he talked to his contact with Chrysler and he gave me the 800 number, but it is just Sirius.

Jeff doesn't konw if it requires a ROM Flash to get it to see it.

    I am confused.

I installed the sirius in the car myself. If the evic is the display in the dash behind the steering wheel, mine says only the channel number. You can call me if you want to talk directly and we can compare notes. Chris 909-245-3667

Chris, I would love to call you but me being in St. Louis, MO has a 2 hour time difference going on.

I have the Navigation (REC) head unit and all I did was unplug the 22 way connector that was on the head unit, plug that INTO the new harness, then plug the new harness INTO the 22 way connection on the radio.

The only question we (my brother a mechanic) had was the 10 way connection that comes with the new harness.

I already had a 10 way connection plugged INTO my head unit, so we disconnected that one and put in the new one, although they are basically the same wiring..???

If you still have your instruction sheet, I am referring to pages 10 & 11, steps 10-12.

I am currently HAVING the exact same problem. I've only had my car a few days. I told the dealer about it today and they are checking INTO it.

The dealer added the sat system to my 300C with Nav. Evic did not display the channel. Everything else worked. Took it back and now it works. My point is it is suppose to work and the problem you have is common but can be corrected.

I hope. I just didn't want to have to the dealer and have them flash it, but I think I'm going to have to.

I have to take it back in to the dealer and they have to hook it up to their computer and tell the EVIC I have Sirius. Apparently they forgot to do that step.

I just want to stick a fork in this.

I took my vehicle to the dealer and after the service writer sitting in my car so I could SHOW him/explain to him what was wrong, I went back the 2nd day so he could have a Dodge Rep fix it.

Yes, the EVIC needs to know the SAT radio is connected and working, which is what I tried to tell them. Unfortunately the "technician" thought he knew what he was talking about and told the Service writer I just had to press the INFO button on my NAV unit to see the station information...

Anyway, thanks for all the responses and the help, without the knowledge transferred in this forum I would have not had an intelligent leg to stand on.

BTW, there is a lot more stuff to this story, including me calling a Sales Rep an @$$hole, but I refrained FROM telling you all that.

My Service Writer did an outstanding job and I can't wait to fill out the Customer Satisfaction Survey so that I can bring him some proper attention.

    Thanks ALL!
