"How-to" for factory Nav Install - Anyone?

Does anyone know where I can find a "how to" on installing a factory Nav system in my non-nav equipped Magnum RT. I figure the head unit itself is a plug and play, but not sure how to pull the instrument cluster and route the antenna. Would be nice to see a writeup with pictures for me to follow.

I just did the conversion in my RT...... it is an easy process!

I took a few pictures of the trim bezels, because you have to switch out the hazard switch and A/C controls to the new bezel. Everything else is simple plug-and-play. You do NOT need to remove the instrument panel for the GPS antenna. In fact, on my install, I simply used some double sided tape, and mounted it on top of the A/C vents at the top of the radio cluster.... it works without any issues.
I also installed my Sirius receiver on Friday..... the only job I have left to complete is the antenna...... and I am going to try and mount one of the "micro" antennas insied the trim bezel around the third brake light this week, for a completely hidden install. For now, the Sirius is working fine with an old XM antenna laying in the rear cargo area!

    FYI.....

I have my sirius ant installed under the front dash and have had no problems with reception. I do have the aftermarket unit though.

    Bo,

Thanks for the info and the tips on not HAVING to pull the cluster. I feel stupid enough as is since my wife ordered our magnum, which we pick up Thursday, and didn't ORDER the Nav only to finally see one with it and wanted it after all. So I get to install after the fact.

    I appreciate the help.

I have a How To with a ton of pics that I have ready to post. I'll try to send it to the mods tonight or tomorrow. It's incredibly easy.

I have the actual manual that comes with the NAV system for dealer upgrades. If anyone wants to host the pics, I can send it and put together a KB article or something.

Hey guys, I just noticed this thread AFTER I created a new one about tapping INTO the NAV system to use its screen to display a back-up video camera mounted in the license plate frame.

Since you guys have had the thing apart, and maybe even have tech/installation/service manuals, has your experience shed any light on this matter?

Did you find any aux video inputs, a reverse-gear sensor input (to automatically switch to aux video input when the car is in reverse), or even any exposed wiring of a video nature that we can hack INTO for this purpose?

It might be a fantasy to acheive this with the factory NAV unit, but it's fairly easy with aftermarked LCD/DVD head units.... Just wondering... (and hoping!)

When installing the GPS antenna, DROP the glove box, remove the 3 philip head screws surrounding a vacum formed cloth material around the air bag, remove it, and you have a very large cavity to run the antenna as far forward of the dash, leaving enogh slack to plug in behind the radio for servicing. they (dodge) have a stupid place for it sitting more towards the center of the car than on the window. You will achieve better results also
