    Has anyone had this issue with your factory nav?

    I just installed a factory nav unit. I also installed a iPod control box so the iPod can be run though the stereo. When I leave the sat radio area and then come back my preset sat channels are gone. The memory retains everything else, just not the sat stations? Any ideas? Is there a reset button on this unit?

    Thanks

    no reset button...

    sounds like a loose connection somewhere.....

    the unit itself should always retain the station memory even if unplugged...

    now the issue with the SAT/ Ipod I can't really address because I don't have SAT..

    hopefully Jaak will chime in.

    but seeing as the Mopar Ipod interface works on the SAT link, my thinking would be that if you attempted to set or change the preset memory in ipod mode then it would wipe out the SAT memory since the ipod interface is emulating the SAT mode features..

    Sounds like it's working properly.

    I have the same setup you do, minus the SAT radio. While looking into the iPod module, I did find that the module tells the stereo that it is the SAT system. All the channel info is dumped and replaced with the info off the iPod. So when you go back to the actual SAT radio, it has to update everything all over again.

    I'll dig up the thread I saw the info in for you.

    Edit;
    More info in here: Ipod connector pictures!!! here first!!!

    When you have the ipod adaptor, you lose the ability to store channels. Every time you start the car it will clear the channels from the memory. It's a trade off of having the ipod adaptor.
