Which one would you guys go with and why?
Is one better then the other?

I went w/ the Kenwood. It's just plain awesome. The Eclipse isn't a bad unit, but I've just never been a big fan of their products as far as quality is concerned. I think either one will make you pretty happy.
One thing I'm not crazy about - and this applies to both - is that they are kinda slow to respond to your input. They're friggin' computers, it takes them a second to process requests and update the screen. Easy to get used to though.
The Kenwood uses Garmin navigation - which means you get all the free updates from Garmin's site. IMHO that's pretty friggin' sweet.

I ended up going with the Kenwood myself. I did a side by side comparison of the specs and the Kenwood had it beat.

Super T how is the screen as far as movies go?
Ive been told that the picture on the Eclipse is better Im waiting to see if these is any truth to that.
They look good... I mean, as good as anything can look on a 7" screen anyway :-) Color is good, contrast is good, brightness is good (and it's all adjustable anyway).
I haven't tried yet, just got the head unit less than a month ago. But, I believe any map updates will be free through Garmin. I know a lot of their smaller hand-helds are going that route too.
I sell both Kenwood and Eclipse. Both are great units in functionality and quality. The 3D mapping on the Eclipse is awesome. We sell more of the Eclipse navs than the Kenwood. Probably because of the 3 year warranty if dealer installed. Also, Kenwood nav updates are about $100.00 from Garmin.
Well then I stand corrected :-)
