Earcandy how did you get rid of you radio noise " wine?

I thought it would be best to post this public, but any one can answer. I just know FROM his post he owns or works in a radio store and has installed a radio like I want.

" I did have noise but I just kept trouble shooting for about a week but finally got it all worked out. I did use a Harness metra part#70-6701 that has the amp plug and radio plug. so no wires are cut"

    3 Questions
1 How did get rid of the wine "noise"?
    2 What was the cause?

I plan on getting the Kenwood dvd nav unit close to the one you have. I also plan on replacing all 6 interior speakers. All door speakers will be off a high powered 4 ch amp.

3 If I use the harness that you listed above would it be better to runl my 3.5 replacements in window off the front left and rite wire out the harnes connected to the factory amp. Or would the Kenwood front left and rite wires be enuf to power the 3.5s there self. What would sound better the factory amp on my 3.5s or the Kenwood 22watts rms FROM the radio.

Most likely the 3.5s will be about 20 -40 watts RMS.

I have big plans for this machine.

The whining is usually ground noise. Regrounding the amp usually does the trick.

After completely removing the factory amp I found that the noise was gone, i also added the Kenwood DSP unit which allows a fibre optic run FROM the head unit to the DSP, and FROM the DSP to the amps with rcas so i can keep the rca leads very short.
i would suggest getting a good set of 6.5" components for the front instead of using the 3.5" in the dash it will sound much better. The DSP unit also allows you to do DTS, Dolby and various time alignment with the speakers. use a good quality 4 channel amp and you want to atleast double the output of the radio i would go with 70 or up per channel it is very rare that a speaker blows because of too much power, I am running 600 watts to each side of my front set and 250 each to the rear. I will have no less.
    Hope this helped

yes that does help. So out with the factory amp.
I was going to run a high powered 4 ch amp to the front and rear "fostaget 800a4" . 6.5 comps in front maybe focals and 6.5 in the back along with the infinity kappa perfect 3.5s. in the dash.

my plan was to use the componets and 6.5 off the amp and the 3.5s off the radio.

In the back two kicker 12 L7s off a 1200 watt rms amp.

or maybe a third smaller amp just for the 3.5s.
    is that ok?

My problem with the 3.5s is if you run them with the radio output they will run out of power and you will not have the other speakers working very hard. if you add a small amp to them that would work but it will sound very bright they will reflect back to you FROM the windshield. If you put the Focals up front mount the tweeters in the dash and set crossovers up accordingly, it will sound great! Another problem with HAVING the tweeter in the door is it is the worst spot in the car for a tweeter your leg will block it and it will greatly emphasize the right side soundwaves of the car. putting them in the dash will keep the image just about right and you can experiment with the direction of the tweeters and the angle etc... the back will sound pretty bright to so you will probably end up knocking the tweeters down maybe -3db with the crossover. I think you could take the money you would have spent on the 3.5s and up grade your choice of components and get better sound. That is my take on it and I know that no 2 people hear the same thing the same way. I know my car is right when I can listen to a well recorded disc and close my eyes and it sounds like the band is playing on the hood of my car. by the way when you do a listening test do it at night when you cannot see the speakers it will give you a better idea of what it really sounds like, your brain tends to pinpoint the origin of a sound when you can see the speakers.
