    Does this exist?

I'd like to find a stereo system to replace the stock radio and am looking for one that has some sort of disk storage in it to load tracks from a ipod or mp3 player. Getting tired of hanging the player out of the Aux plug.

I am not interested in a MyGig or any elaborate nav system.

Searched Crutchfield and other sites but no joy...any thoughts?

    just so you know

If you get a six sidc changer with cass i know it will play mp3's. An average cd-r is 700mb. So if you had 6 that would be around 4.2mb. Not a whole lot of storage but maybe a solution for you. I mean who really uses 30megs on an ipod anyway.

The only ones that come to mind are the Eclipse AVN7000 and Eclipse AVN5495. But, both are indash nav units.

I'd recommend getting a Kenwood DDX712, no HDD, but it does have USB to connect your ipod, other mp3 player (mounted in glovebox), whatever, all controlled by screen on ipod, even video.

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

Not the best looking head units in the world, but they have the internal memory youre looking for. I think they only record music off CD's as well. Not sure about recording from the AUX. Also, there are head units out there that can read memory cards. Might be another option for you.

    Good luck in your search.

I love my pioneer DEH-5000UB.. Usb cable comes off the back of the unit so I have it sitting in front of the ashtray at the moment for usb memory sticks or ipod connections.. Works a treat..

    What? 6 x 700mb = 4,200mb or 4.2 gb

4.2 gigs of MP3's is decent ammount of music.

It is. I have 6 disks of MP3's loaded in mine and at about 190 songs per disk I have roughly 1140 songs at any given time. More than enough for months of listening. I can't see really needing more than that since you could always swap out disks with different ones once in a while.

    WMA's will hold even more.
