    Compatability

Strictly hypothetical is it possible to upgrade a base cd player to a nav unit with Sirius in an SXT? I know the bezel has to be replaced. Dodge.com sez i have upgrade to R/T when i add Nav as option for SXT

Yes it is very doable. In fact there is a special edition SXT coming out with the nav system in it.

Speaking of compatibility...my RT is equipped with the AM/FM/CD in-dash unit, plus Sirius and UConnect. Two questions:

If I buy one of those "discarded" AM/FM/6CD/mp3 in-dash units (on eBay or elsewhere), do they all come with Sirius and UConnect capabilities?

And are the Magnum in-dash units really interchangeable with the ones installed in other DCX models?

The in-dash 6-CD changer was the only item I gave up when I took delivery on a nearly identical Magnum RT my dealer pulled FROM a neighboring state, so it'd be truly cool if I could add it back for cheap. But only if it works, y'know?

Today I replaced my Magnum RT's AM/FM/CD unit with an AM/FM/6CD/Cassette unit that came FROM another LX. I used the "How to remove the radio" article in the Knowledge Base as a guide, and I posted a few comments over there that other RT owners might find helpful.

Compatibility-wise, I was glad to learn that swapping the units had no effect on the function of UConnect or Sirius -- I simply had to set the clock and re-program the radio presets. And aesthetically, for what it's worth, the AM/FM/6CD/Cassette unit's display is a better match for the RT's EVIC display.
