    Box Help

Just wondering if I can fit 2 15s in both side pockets and how much room I could possibly have. I am getting pretty tired of the HUGE box idea, so I think I might try a side pocket box. So I need some advice. Rob maybe or 402?

Heres the specs I have to work with on my 15" TC-5200.

    Fixed
    Qms 5.10
    Res 4.52
BL (Tm) 43.00 (high so this is where my box problem comes into play since the high BL makes them WANT a perfect box)
    Mms(grams) 515.00
    Cms N/M 110.00
    Sd (m^2) .0820

    Constants
    c (m/s) 341.00
    d (kg/m^3) 1.20
    K 9.64E-10

    Calculated
    Vas (litres) 103.21
    Fs (Hz) 21.15
    Qes .167
    Qts .162
    n0 5.62E-03
    SPL (dB) 89.50

Any this next part is taken from the new Audiopulse LMS-Ultra, which is basically the same thing as the LMS-5400, so this could be off slightly on the mounting depth.

    Mounting Depth 12.10″
    Driver Cutout Diameter 14.00″
    Overall Driver Diameter 15.51″
    Magnet Weight 525 oz
    Driver Weight 75 lbs

    Performance

    Xmax 38 mm
    Recommended Amplification 5000 W RMS
    4th order reflex enclosure volume 2.0 - 3.5 ft³
    2nd order sealed enclosure volume 2.0 - 4.5 ft³

The mounting depth is huge... way to large for side pockets.

You will need at least another 3"s of depth so the voice-coil can have some way to vent without burning up. You are looking at 15 1/2"s deep.

no way in hell only thing you can do is ditch the spare and move the battery and fuse box to the side this will give you a nice open hole still dont think you can do two 15 but maybe if you go the skills......

Ditch the side pocket idea. They would protrude so far into the cabin that it would defeat the whole purpose. The only thing I see possible for you is to remove the plastic panels completely and starting from scratch. It would be a lot of fab work (I know, that's exactly what I'm doing now), but if you or your trusted shop is up to the task, it could come out very nice.

You could do a single 15" in the spare tire well without taking up much cabin room. Two would be pushing it.

I think you're gonna have to accept that with big woofers comes big boxes

How long until you are done with yours? And id never have the cash to pay a shop to fab up new side panels so id have to do it myself unfortuately unless you make a mold of yours so I can have it as well

And id like to put the air suspension where the spare tire is someday. So I cant be fooling around with that too much.

I dont see any other options I have. The TC subs are designed to work best in small enclosures though. Id like to do something similar to yours Al where the subs are angled with the back seat. And then id need a place for my 1800s, which do very well in the side pockets currently.

I just want something to take to car meet ups and not be ashamed of showing off my subs with such a ghetto set up I have now. I have been stuck on this for the past week and just dont know what I can do. Id like the amp recessed in the floor between the top layer and the middle, but I just dont know where I could put these darn subs. I guess I could just sell them if thats what its gonna come down to.

i would just go small if your going for show....15 are cool for sound offs or what ever you call them but just impractical for a show stopper...

True. I just am picky about my subs. I think 4 10s would be great but I havent found any that I truly like. And then I was thinking 4 RL-i 8s, but that gets into alot of money. I would rather not get another amp and stick with my current Hifonics Colossus. It does 1600x2 @ 1 or 3200x1 @ 2, so I would have to keep that in mind. I wonder if I could do 4 of the new black L7s in a sealed box angled with the seats. Or maybe 4 10" Rockford T2s. Might be a little too much power for them though if I place 2 on each channel.

I just need something cool. I look at yours (Al) and lowrider's and it just is perfect in all show aspects, plus im sure it sounds great as well. I just need some sort of idea so that I can finally part with my current subs. Im stuck

Heres the info on the RL-i 8s. Maybe I can use these? I was thinking 4 in a line with aero ports coming out of the top or back?

If you put the air systwm there, would you have the room for the amp??
I had a "brain storm" (might be good or bad idea, but AN idea, non the less)
What if you put the amp enclosed on the hatch, under the window, so it was seen when you had it open?? Or would that involve more work then I am thinking??
    THANKS TO HAZMAN for avatar!

The air system would fit where the spare tire goes I believe. Not sure though since ive never actually seen one in a Magnum. So thats why I would put the amp on the grey cover that covers the battery and spare tire in the back and then cut a rectangle hole out for the amp in the top black cover that goes over the grey one.

However, your idea sounds pretty great and actually reminds me of the waterfall Magnum that I saw at SEMA/every show awhile ago.

I think it would look pretty sweet up there with (4) 6.5s and 2 horn tweeters all in a square surround the amp. Either way, it involves some work, but your idea would look pretty sweet!
