Best NON-NAV/NON DVD STOCK HEAD REPLACEMENT?

Because I upgraded my amps and speakers and was hoping to give it some time to save more money before upgrading my stock head unit...I kept the stock unit. I'm thinking that wasn't a good idea because i'm getting some kind of click/hiss noise and I guess I should just shell the money out now and cut back in other areas to be done iwth what I want to do...even if I need to take some from a credit card and pay it back. Because I have a portable nav, and don't care about DVD....I was wondering what would be a solid unit to replace the stock unit that I have now?

My system right now is the "kicker upgrade" for all the speakers and dual 10'' voice coil 2ohm subs -- the subs are powered by a 750.1 kicker amp and the speakers by a 4 channel kicker 350.4 amp. I was hoping to just get a unit to replace the factory unit without necessarily having to replace the console.....I know some of the navi models require you have a "dual din" or something from what i've read....so I was wondering if I just went with a dvd player vs. a screen...would I still need a dual din?

So I guess it's a two part question....what would you consider a solid factory replacement head unit/cd player and would I need or should I do a dual din with the replacement? Thanks to anyone for any advice on this.....

ok, I guess from what I have been looking at a "dual/double" din would definitely be the way to go since I wouldn't want a skinny face unit. With that being said, any suggestions on a solid unit that is pretty much strictly CD vs. NAV OR DVD?

I guess a good CD/DVD unit would be fine...but NAV is too pricey for me and I already have a portable Garmin I got a great deal on. Any suggestions?

allright, I was looking at units the last couple of hours and narrowed it down to either the Pioneer AVH-P3100 or the AVH-P4100. I guess the only question I have know would be what I would need in order to use "SIRIUS" as well as the "UCONNECT"/Bluetooth Feature? I see it says sirius capable and bluetooth capable but since I have UCONNECT off the rearview mirror, I like the ease of use with that and would like to continue to use it if possible but I'm thinking the bluetooth feature on that unit is seperate from uconnect so i'm not sure what i'd need for sirius and uconnect or if I could even use uconnect with this?

The radio wants to do one thing, but your car wants to do another. Your on the right track by replacing everything. It's nice having the nav in the radio and everything at your fingertips. It's a pain having adapters or using this for your radio and that for your nav. Both of the radio's you are looking at you can go on cruchfeild and click on accesssories and grab the bluetooth and sirius stuff you need. If you are unsure just give them a call.

Uconnect or aftermarket bluetooth with new unit?

thanks for the reply. I guess i'm wondering at this point what should really be kept or not. I mean I am gonna keep Sirius so I'll get the Sirius Kit, but what about UCONNECT VS. BLUETOOTH from the aftermarket UNIT?

Is there any reason to get the UCONNECT KIT from the dealer or should I just AXE the UCONNECT and stick with the BLUETOOTH capability from the new unit if it has it or just get the add-on to the new unit? Basically, i'm asking if there would be any benefit to the UCONNECT vs. BLUETOOTH from the new unit?

Really depends on what you want.. DO you like having uconnect, or would you rather have bluetooth?

See that's the thing i'm confused on. I like UCONNECT b/c it goes straight through my SPEAKERS and for the most part I've had no complaints on the clarity so i'm fine with it. What would be the advantages of UCONNECT OVER BLUETOOTH and vice-versa? Would I still be able to have my calls go through my speakers when they come in?

No, not on the road alot but like Uconnect. Why bluetooth doesn't go directly through our speakers like Uconnect would?

i'm not 100% sure. I know it works with my radio and many others. I don't use it ever though.
