    Backup parking assist

    Hey all,

I finally had it with the wife backing up the car. She is smaller than me and complains that she cannot see behind the Magnum to park it. Well, i went to the dealer to inquire about the parking assist sensor and they said it would cost about $500 installed. Has anyone installed one of these kits off of ebay, they cost about $50 and I am thinking it is a great alternative. My concern is quality, i would hate to install one of these kits only to have it work for a couple of days!

I thought the parking assist sensors are factory default in all LX models??

well, I have never tried any aftermarket parking system myself, but I watched a show on tv, where they tested different "cheap" aftermarket installations, and they all failed the tests.. either way too sensible, beeping all the time, or they dont recognize objects reliable..
I'm sorry but the 300c is gone..

When I ordered my '06 Mag-SXT, I asked for that package (the sensors, lugnut locks and such) and I was told that the factory doesnt install it, as it is an "accessory package" not a factory option. So when my car finally comes in they wull have to install it at the dealership seperatly, charging me parts and labor....

here in europe park assist is not an optional package. sensors and led indicator are built-in by factory. the only thing my dealer had to install afterwards was the uconnect system..

I had a $100 dollar kit installed at an audio shop. It's been working fine for a year now. The shop installed the sensors in the bottom edge of the bumper, probably to make it easier. I get signals backing out of driveways. If you get it installed make sure they don't do that to you.
